Boulder Valley School's District Parent Council (DPC)
The Boulder Valley District Parent Council (DPC) provides a monthly forum and a lively exchange of ideas for all the schools in the Boulder Valley School District.
The DPC is made up of one representative from every school in the district. We meet once a month during the school year with the Superintendent of Schools along with a School Board member and discuss and examine timely and relevant topics that effect the students and schools of the district.
Our meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to attend.
The DPC provides a truly unique opportunity for the parents, staff, teachers, students leadership of the Boulder Valley School District to exchange and share ideas and views in professional and open setting.
The meetings are held the third Wednesday night of every school month at 6:30 p.m. at the Education Center Board Room located at 6500 Arapahoe, Boulder, CO 80303.
End of Year DPC Update
We had a great meeting on Tuesday - low turn out, but the presentations from Sue Kidder (Goldhill's creative school projects) and Fran Raudenbush (BVSD Parent Handbook) were really interesting. We also heard from the BVSD "finance team" on next year's budget proposal. When the minutes are posted, I encourage you to read about what Sue and Fran shared and follow up with them if you are interested in learning more. We also held our elections for next year's Steering Team, which will include myself, Tron Welch and Neil Fishman. I'd like to thank Roman Mica for his year's of service to DPC and other district involvement tied with his DPC responsibilities. It has been a pleasure to work with you and I hope to see you around . . . And please, please let me know as soon as possible if you will be continuing as the DPC rep for your school(s) next year.
I am attempting to clean-up the contact list before school starts and would really appreciate any information you can provide about yourself(keep you on the list, any contact information changes, new rep information, add/drop you from Topica, etc). We are moving our '08-'09 meeting dates to the 3rd Wednesdays of the month.
Our first meeting in the Fall will be on Wednesday, August 20th, from 6:30-8:30pm. We should have a finalized calendar for you at that meeting. Please make a note of it and let any new reps know, as it will be the first week back to school.
